The Shanghai Symposium on Intermediate-Energy Light Sources (SSILS) will address important issues relating to accelerator and beam line technology for storage ring light sources in the intermediate energy range. The Symposium will provide a forum for intensive communication among groups involved in the design and construction of such facilities as well as with groups representing storage rings operating at other energies. With the large number of new and proposed sources underway, there are many novel and innovative approaches to discuss. The Shanghai Symposium on Intermediate-Energy Light Sources will focus on exchange of these ideas and application of these technologies to new storage rings.
This conference is held under the joint auspices of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the International Committee for Future Accelerators, Future Light Sources Subpanel (ICFA).
The SSILS Conference Co-Chairmen are Senyu Chen (SSRC) and Herman Winick (SSRL), and the Program Co-Chairmen are Jeff Corbett (SSRL), Dieter Einfeld (ANKA) and Zhentang Zhao (SSRC).

The scientific program of SSILS will consist of plenary sessions with parallel oral and poster sessions. Over 75 papers have been recommended from 25 laboratories worldwide. On the basis of the recommended presentations from different laboratories, the Scientific Program Committee will select plenary talks, parallel oral presentations and poster presentations. All written submissions will be collected in the symposium proceedings. The Symposium program will be distributed in the second SSILS announcement.
The SSILS Proceedings will contain papers submitted by the authors at the Symposium and appear only in printed format. Detailed instructions for paper submissions will be provided in the second SSILS announcement.
VISA Forms - Letters of Invitation
An official Letter of Invitation will be sent to each participant who returns the Registration Form by May 31, 2001.
